Deann Borshay Liem (Director/Producer) served as Co-Executive Producer for Spencer Nakasako’s Emmy award-winning documentary, A.K.A. DON BONUS, a video diary about a Cambodian teenager struggling to graduate from high school, and Nakasako’s KELLY LOVES TONY, a documentary about two Mien teen refugees, broadcast on POV in 1998. Prior to directing FIRST PERSON PLURAL, Borshay Liem served as Executive Director of NAATA (National Asian American Telecommunications Assoc.), a national media arts organization that provides funding, distribution, and production support services for film and video projects by and about the Asian American community for broadcast on public television. FIRST PERSON PURAL is Borshay Liem’s directorial debut.

Vivien Hillgrove (Editor) has over 20 years of experience as an editor for both narrative feature films and documentaries. Her documentary credits include Lourdes Portillo’s DEVIL NEVER SLEEPS, LA OFRENDA – THE DAYS OF THE DEAD and CORPUS: A HOME MOVIE FOR SELENA. She was also editor for the Academy Award winning documentary, BROKEN RAINBOW, produced by Earthworks and HAWAII – BORN IN PARADISE, an IMAX film directed by Bob Hillman. The narrative feature film she has edited include HENRY AND JUNE (picture editor) and THE UNBEARABLE LIGHTNESS OF BEING (picture editor and supervising dialogue editor) by Phil Kaufman. She was supervising dialogue editor for BLUE VELVET by David Lynch, THE MOSQUITO COAST by Peter Weir, and AMADEUS by Milos Forman. She also served as dialogue editor for THE RIGHT STUFF and NEVER CRY WOLF, and as picture editor for Emiko Omori’s HOT SUMMER WINDS.

Vivian Kleiman (Executive Producer) is a recipient of The George Foster Peabody Award, the Int’l Documentary Association’s Outstanding Achievement Award, a National Emmy Award nomination (Outstanding Individual Achievement in Research) and the Organization of American Historians’ Eric Barnouw Award for her distinguished work in documentaries. A longtime collaborator with the late Marlon Riggs, her credits include the critically acclaimed TONGUES UNTIED (Cinematographer), COLOR ADJUSTMENT (Producer, Research Director), and BLACK IS…BLACK AIN’T (Executive Director of Rigg’s production company, Signifyin’ Works). She co-produced the ITVS/Channel Four co-production ROAM SWEET HOME, directed by Ellen Spiro, and co-produced the ITVS/MacArthur Foundation-funded FORGOTTEN FIRES, with Michael Chandler. BUSINESS (Producer/Director) was noted as "the most respectful of women of any AIDS video" by the Nat’l Women’s Health Network. Kleiman has been a lecturer at Stanford University’s Department of Communication Graduate Program in Documentary Film Production since 1995.
